The invisible weight of trauma can make everyday life feel like an exhausting act of survival. For those living with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or the aftermath of significant life stressors, the world often feels unpredictable and unsafe. When traditional weekly therapy isn’t providing the relief or stability you need, it may be time to consider a more intensive, specialized approach.
At New Dimensions Day Treatment Centers, we are committed to helping you process the past and reclaim your present. We are proud to be an In-Network Provider with Aetna for our Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for trauma and PTSD.
If you are an Aetna policyholder in the Greater Houston area, you have access to a structured, trauma-informed environment designed to help you regulate your nervous system and heal—all while staying connected to your home and community.
Navigating the Path to Recovery: PHP vs. IOP for Trauma
Aetna recognizes that trauma recovery requires different levels of intensity depending on where you are in your journey. At New Dimensions, we offer two distinct tiers of care to ensure you get exactly what you need.
-
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Our Trauma PHP is our most immersive outpatient option. It is designed for individuals experiencing acute PTSD symptoms—such as severe dissociation, hypervigilance, or intrusive flashbacks—that make it difficult to function at work or home.
- The Commitment: 6 hours a day, 5 days a week.
- The Goal: Providing a “safe harbor” for stabilization, intensive regulation skills, and a break from daily triggers.
-
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Our Trauma IOP is ideal for those who have achieved initial stability but need a structured environment to practice coping skills in real-world situations.
- The Commitment: 3 hours a day, 3 to 5 days a week.
- The Goal: Deepening your “toolbox” of grounding techniques, processing traumatic themes in a group setting, and preventing relapse.
Why Choose an In-Network Aetna Facility for Trauma?
Dealing with trauma is hard enough; navigating insurance shouldn’t be. Choosing an in-network provider like New Dimensions offers several clinical and financial advantages:
Financial Peace of Mind
Because we are in-network with Aetna, we have a pre-negotiated rate for our services. This means your co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance are clearly defined by your Aetna plan. You won’t face the high costs of out-of-network care or the stress of “balance billing,” allowing you to focus your energy entirely on healing.
Evidence-Based “Gold Standard” Care
Aetna maintains high clinical standards for its in-network providers. Our use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills is specifically designed to meet these criteria. We focus on “bottom-up” regulation to help quiet the body’s alarm system before moving into “top-down” cognitive processing.
Seamless Transitions
Our intake team works directly with Aetna to handle all clinical authorizations. We ensure your Aetna benefits are used efficiently, whether you are stepping down from a hospital stay or stepping up from weekly therapy.
Specialized Tools for Healing PTSD
Trauma rewrites the story of who you are and how you interact with the world. At New Dimensions, we help you write a new chapter using:
- Grounding & Mindfulness: Practical tools to pull you out of a flashback and back into the present moment.
- Emotional Regulation: Learning how to manage “emotional flooding” so you feel in control of your reactions.
- Group Support: Breaking the isolation of trauma by connecting with others in Katy, The Woodlands, and Clear Lake who share similar experiences.
Serving Our Local Communities
We believe that high-quality trauma care should be available in your backyard. We serve Aetna members across the Houston metroplex:
- Katy, TX: Convenient for West Houston and the Energy Corridor.
- The Woodlands, TX: A professional and supportive setting for North Houston.
- Clear Lake / Houston: Supporting the Bay Area and League City communities.
