Mohammed Ayoub, MD

Mohammed Ayoub, MD is a practicing Adult, Child, and Adolescent Psychiatrist in Houston, Texas. After finishing General Psychiatry Residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Dr. Ayoub has been practicing in Clear Lake since 2002. He has been with the New Dimensions Day Treatment program of Clear Lake as the Medical Director of their Adolescent Program since 2002.

Laura Alper, MA, LCDC

Laura is the Director of the Adult Chemical Dependency Program in the Woodlands. Laura is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor specializing in adult outpatient treatment. She received her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in psychology from the University of Houston – Clear Lake. Laura has experience working with clients involved with the Criminal Justice System, Specialty Courts and Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. She also has training and experience working with dual diagnosis clients. Laura previously worked as a Drug and Alcohol Prevention Specialist educating youth and families on drug and alcohol prevention, teaching family dynamics and parenting skills.

Regina Elrod

Dr. Jasime Sonny, PsyD

Dr. Sonny is a Provisionally Licensed Psychologist (TX License #39625). She holds a doctoral degree in Human and Organizational Psychology from Touro University Worldwide, as well as a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling.

Dr. Sonny believes that every person is a unique individual and should be treated with the utmost respect. When working with clients, her primary goals are to be compassionate, culturally sensitive, and professional. Dr. Sonny specializes in conducting comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations of mood disorders, ADHD, ASD, and many other mental health disorders. In addition to treating depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, and ADHD. She has many years of experience working in a variety of mental health settings with both children and adults. She has experience providing individual therapy, family therapy, and crisis intervention. Dr. Sonny is passionate about assisting her clients with appropriate interventions so that they can live their lives to the fullest.

Regina Elrod

Christina Zsigray, LCSW, Clinical Director

Christina Zsigray, LCSW, leads our clinical Woodlands team and brings a comprehensive and empathetic approach to mental health care. Christina’s professional foundation was laid in the Army as a Chaplain Assistant, where she gained invaluable insight into the dynamics of support and resilience in high-pressure environments. Her commitment to mental health continued at the Department of Veterans Affairs, where she dedicated herself to aiding homeless veterans, deepening her understanding of their unique needs and challenges.

Christina’s expertise was further broadened through her work with high-risk youth, where she honed her skills in crisis intervention and therapeutic communication. Holding a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Social Work, she is well-versed in mental health theories and practices, with a particular interest in trauma-focused therapy. This specialization reflects her commitment to addressing and healing the impacts of trauma through evidence-based approaches.


Outside of her professional endeavors, Christina’s life is enriched by her husband, Carlos, and their two small children. She finds solace and joy in hiking, embracing the tranquility and challenges of nature. A lifelong learner, Christina continually seeks new knowledge in her field and broader interests. She cherishes time spent with her family and relaxing with a good book. At New Dimensions, Christina’s blend of professional expertise, dedication to trauma-informed care, and personal values guide our team in providing compassionate, effective treatment.

Regina Elrod

Stacey Sullivan, NP

Stacey Sullivan is a Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who has been treating individuals of all ages for over a decade in mental healthcare. Ms. Sullivan graduated from Abilene Christian University Magna Cum Laude in 2006 and from the University of Texas in Arlington in 2011. Ms. Sullivan served as a medical-surgical telemetry nurse before obtaining her graduate degree and decided to pursue mental health two years later. Ms. Sullivan feels that the decision to go into mental health was one of the best decisions of her life. Ms. Sullivan specializes in medication management while also incorporating medical, emotional, environmental, hereditary, and spiritual aspects of care.


Ms. Sullivan is very passionate about changing the quality and access of mental healthcare. Ms. Sullivan values the education and research that goes into the treatment of others and how important it is for one to be an active participant in their own health. Ms. Sullivan is a current member of the Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurses of Houston, American Nurses Association, American Psychiatric Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, Delta Theta Chapter. Ms. Sullivan lives in The Woodlands/Tomball area with her two daughters and enjoys life with her girls, music, working out, and the outdoors.

Regina Elrod

Isabella Scarmardi, LMSW

Isabella Scarmardi, LMSW completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Sam Houston State University, and Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health and Substance Misuse from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Isabella has experience providing individual/group therapy and behavioral skills to adolescents and adults with high-functioning to acute mental illness including Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, Schizophrenia, and others within inpatient/outpatient psychiatric hospital programs, criminal justice rehabilitation programs, and foster care agencies.

Isabella focuses on using Person-Centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help empower clients on their healing journey, identify patterns, and become the best version of themselves.

Ayana Bell, LPC – Associate, NCC

Hello! I’m Ayana Bell, an Adolescent Therapist at New Dimension Day Treatment Centers, where I specialize in providing comprehensive support to adolescents on their journey toward mental health and well-being. With over 8 years of experience in crisis intervention and suicide prevention, I am deeply committed to helping individuals overcome challenges and achieve their mental health goals.

Prior to joining New Dimension Day Treatment Centers, I attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Mississippi College, where I pursued my education in Social and Behavioral Sciences and Mental Health Counseling. I later worked as an outpatient therapist at a mental health hospital, supporting both adults and adolescents. Drawing from this background, I provide compassionate care to individuals facing various mental health challenges. My expertise includes assisting clients dealing with substance use disorders, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, grief, depression, bipolar disorders, eating disorders, ADHD, and schizophrenia.

In addition to my clinical work, I am an army veteran with experience as a dedicated medic. Originally from the vibrant Bay Area of California, I find joy in spending quality time with my loved ones, nurturing my garden, and pursuing my passions, including roller skating, reading, fishing, playing with our fur-baby, and exploring new culinary experiences as a self-proclaimed foodie.


Above all, I am deeply passionate about fostering meaningful therapeutic relationships with my clients and guiding them on their journey toward healing and personal growth. It is my privilege to support individuals in realizing and actualizing their treatment goals, and I am dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of those I serve at New Dimension Day Treatment Centers.

Shelby Barrow

Shelby Barrow, M.Ed., LPC – Associate

Shelby is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (License #92166) with the Texas Board of Examiners of Licensed Professional Counselors. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Sam Houston State University and her Master of Education degree in School Counseling from Sam Houston State University. She is a current member in good standing of the American Counseling Association.

Shelby is a certified Texas School Counselor (Grades EC-12) and has previously worked in public education as a teacher for 5 years. Prior to joining New Dimensions, Shelby worked in private practice where she provided individual, couples, and family therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. 

Shelby’s focus is a collaborative approach that combines the techniques of person-centered, solution-focused, and cognitive behavioral therapy to help each individual obtain what they need in a supportive and understanding environment. She is EMDR trained.

Shelby is driven to build authentic relationships with clients to employ their strengths and cultivate self-awareness to help them sort out their challenges and attain their goals.

John O’Shee, Marketer

John was raised in Louisiana and in his early twenties decided to serve his country as a United States Army Infantry Officer.  Following his career in the military he changed his focus to mental health with an interest in substance abuse.  

John earned his Bachelor’s degree in social work from Northwestern State University and a Master’s degree in social work from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He has been employed in the mental health field for over 20 years, with 15 of those in residential substance abuse and psychiatric inpatient work.  

For the past five years, John has directed his passion for helping those suffering from addiction in combination with his education and training to pursue business development for New Dimensions and share our co-occurring treatment approach.
